The moment in life where I felt truly myself is when I was walking down the streets in Brooklyn on a sunny day and looking at my own reflection in a broken sidewalk mirror and I see myself with my pink hair and a pink outfit as happy as I can ever be. It was a snapshot of pure happiness, capturing a state of being where I felt utterly content and true to myself.

While walking home, I stumbled upon a discarded frame on the streets. Inspired by my own emotions and the concept of discovering oneself in shattered circumstances, I decided to incorporate an engraved mirror into the frame. This artistic addition allows me to convey my innermost feelings and the profound ability to find self-reflection even within broken fragments.

When the mirror is unilluminated, it serves as a canvas for the display of my thoughts, encompassing both positive and negative aspects of my inner dialogue. However, when the mirror is illuminated, a remarkable transformation occurs. Through the use of strategically painted negative words, only the positive thoughts emanate, radiating a beacon of optimism and inspiration.

This project symbolizes the remarkable ability to find beauty and self-discovery within fractured experiences. It serves as a visual representation of the journey towards embracing positivity and overcoming negativity, highlighting the transformative power of perspective and introspection.

During my time in college, I often felt unsatisfied with my work. I believed it didn't meet my expectations because I lacked confidence and didn't try new things. But over time, I realized that my self-doubt and fear of taking risks were the main reasons for my dissatisfaction.

As someone driven by passion, I understood that believing in myself was crucial for unlocking my creative potential. I realized that success shouldn't be solely based on outside validation or meeting arbitrary standards. Instead, it should be defined by my commitment to the creative process.

Even though I still have moments of doubt, as long as I keep creating, I consider myself successful. This mindset has allowed me to appreciate the journey of self-expression and find fulfillment in the act of creating.
